FAQs

What are warm roofs?

Warm roofs are a type of roofing system where the insulation is placed above the structural roof deck, rather than between or below it. This design keeps the entire roof structure within the insulated envelope, reducing thermal bridging, preventing condensation issues, and improving overall energy efficiency. Warm roofs are commonly used in commercial and residential buildings and can support various finishes like green roofs, solar panels, and decking.

Can Conqueror Insulation Board be used in damp or external conditions?

Yes. The PIR core has a closed‑cell structure that is resistant to water absorption, and the aluminium foil facing provides high vapour resistance, making it suitable for many damp environments when installed correctly.

What applications is it suitable for?

It’s ideal for insulating ceilings, roofs and walls in new builds, extensions and renovations — including homes, sheds, offices, and other buildings requiring durable thermal insulation.

Is Conqueror Insulation Board compliant with New Zealand building standards?

Yes. The product is manufactured to comply with the New Zealand Building Code and related standards (e.g., AS/NZS 4859.1:2018).

What materials are used in the board?

The board’s core is PIR foam, a high‑performance insulation material, with foil facings on both sides that help reduce vapour and moisture flow.

What panel specifications are available?

All panels have steel facings, with a coating suitable for use around New Zealand. For extreme marine locations, please reach out to us directly as there could be limitations.

What size can the panels be?

Panels are 1000 mm wide for roofing and architectural wall panels, and are 1100 mm wide for coolroom panels. Lengths can vary between 2.4 m - 24 m. Stock panels are available at fixed lengths, please refer to the product pages to purchase these directly.

How quickly will the panels arrive?

Lead time is generally 3-5 weeks. This is subject to the colour and specification chosen.

What are the options for the internal liner?

The liner sheet of our roof panel can be both ribbed (standard) and flat. The standard colour on the liner is titania.

Do you have CodeMark on the products?

Conqueror panels do not have Codemark, but they are fully compliant with the NZ Building Code. Please refer to the individual datasheets for more information.

What is the typical applications for the products?

Panels can be used in many differing applications including residential housing, sheds, sleepouts, conservatories, offices, classrooms and much more.

Do the panels have FRL’s?

No. At at this current moment in time, we have not undertaken any specific firewall testing.

Is technical support available upon purchase or prior to purchase?

Yes. Please email through your enquiry and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible.

Do you need expansion joints in the roof or wall?

Most buildings do not need expansion joints, but you should always consult directly with the project engineer, as they may have specific reasons for including.

What finishes are the panels available in and do they affect the warranty?

External facings - These typically use a Colorsteel Maxam coating, which is suitable for use in most of New Zealand.

Internal facings - The coating used is suitable for multiple applications. If you are operating in aggressive corrosion areas, please consult with us as the standard liner may need to be altered.

Are all the panels you sell ‘flat’?

No. Coolroom and architectural panels are classed as flat, but the roofing panels have a trapezoidal exterior facing.

How far can the panels span?

How far a panel will span is a combination of panel thickness, wind & snow loadings, support structure and other factors. Please refer to the specific product datasheets for further information.

What fire performance do the panels offer?

Conqueror Panels have been tested to various New Zealand building code requirements. Please refer to the specific product datasheets for further information.

Do I need to do anything to the joints after installation?

No. Once the panel and panel joint are secured in place, this is generally all you need to do. If required, please refer to further details which are available on the website.

How do I join panels at a corner?

Similar to any other roofing or cladding material. Junctions should be weatherproofed by adding a flashing. Please refer to our standard details for more information.
